YNS Fun Friday

Hey peeps.  TGIF!!!  Go glad this week is over.  And since it is FRIDAY, it's time for another FUN Friday at YNS.  This is the last Friday for our celebration cards.  I have loved all the cards that the DT members have done for this month.  Super talented ladies I must say and so glad to be a part of the time.

For my card I used the adorable You're So Tweet stamp set.  I love this little set.  And wouldn't you know it, it matched my DCWV The Green Stack paper pack perfectly.  Wanted to add in a little country flair so I used MME Everyday Flair checkered red paper.  Another paper pack that I love.  There are so many paper packs on the market that sometimes it can be overwhelming to know which one to purchase.  Well, Karen sells 6X6 sample packs in the YNS store.  This way you get a variety of paper without the commitment to having to purchase entire packs.  Check out the YNS store for more details.  Also Karen has some great deals going on in the bargain bin so this would be the perfect time to stock up on all your stamping needs.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a fabulous weekend.

Summer Time with Tiddly Inks

Hey peeps.  Didn't think you would see me back so soon did cha!?!?  Well I was a crafty fool in my stamp room today.  Got caught up on some cleaning and reorganizing and thought I would squeeze in one more challenge before I called it a night.  The Tiddly Inks Challenge is all about summer time.  And what is more summer time than an adorable lady bug?!?  Isn't she sweet.  Didn't want to clutter up my card with a lot of emblishments so I thought I would keep it clean and simple.  Just used the happy summer sentiment from YNS and I was done!!  Sweet summer time card!

Okay now I must head to bed.  I think my crafting mind is done for today.  LOL

Another card for another chance. :-)

Hey peeps.  I'm back again with another card.  Told you I would be in my stamproom playing today.  Thought I would make another card for a chance to be part of the September DT for MFT.  This little cutie is from the Blowing Bubbles set.  I'm loving the chance to paper piece these images.  So darn cute.  I wanted to try my hand at making a shabby chic card.  Of course I had to add just a tad bit of sparkle.  Trying to showcase my ability to make a variety of different style of cards. The first card I entered was kind of contemporary with the paper I picked.  You can check it out here.  The paper pack I used for this one from MME called Everyday Flair worked perfectly for the shabby chic look.  I finally broke open my Tim Holtz die cut tattered florals for my big ole' flower.  I placed a large button as the center and then added a gem with some stickles on it.  So what cha think?  Is it shabby chic?

Thanks for swinging by again.  Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Featured Stamper 290

Morning peeps.  How are you doing this blessed Sunday morning?  I am up and at it in my stamp room.  Of course I had to slip on by Splitcoaststampers and checkout the Featured Stamper this week.  And boy what a great surprise.  It was Mary aka jandjccc.  Mary has an amazing gallery to case from.  Oh I could of spent all day casing her cards.  Absolutely beautiful.  So I finally decided to make this one in honor of Mary.  I love the softness of this card.  It will be perfect for a new bride and groom.  I'll have to hold it in my stash for that special couple.

I hope to be playing in my room for awhile so I might have another card for you.

In Full Bloom

Hey peeps.  I have a quick card for you today.  Had the chance to join in on the fun at Mo's Digital Pencil and the Ribbon Carousel challenges.  I had this lovely image from MDP colored up and waiting to hop on a card.  She reminds me of a friend who's an avid gardener.  I try to garden but I just always seem to kill my flowers.  But I can work up a storm and grow herbs and veggies.  Had a garden last year with so many cucumbers that I had to give them away.  LOL  So I just purchase my flowers from Krogers when I want to see any kind of blooms in my house.

Gotta run peeps.  Hope you like my card.  See ya soon.

Get Sketchy with MFT

Morning peeps.  Hope your week is starting off on a good note.  I'm participating in the My Favorite Things guest DT challenge.  I have always loved MFT products.  And with even more stuff to love, I thought I would try out for the September guest spot for a chance to be a part of amazing team.  I would love to join in on the fun with the DT members by showcasing all the great die-manics and stamps that MFT carries.  They are so versatile and with my ever changing stamping style, plus the love for my craft, I hope I would be a great match.

I used the Let's Grab Drinks stamp set and paper pieced the dress with Basic Grey June Bug paper.  I am in LOVE with this print.  Reminds me of all the maxi dresses the ladies are wearing this year.  And yes, I think this image is me with my Cosmo martini.  LOL  I had a blast working on this card.  Loving the sentiments in this set too.  With fifteen sentiments to choose from I'm going to have an endless supply of "Let's Grab Drinks" cards and gifts.  My girlfriends know that I LOVE a great dirty martini. ;-)

And here's a close-up of the dress.  I wish I had this image's figure.  LOL

Wish me luck everyone as I enter the challenge.  There are some really talented ladies this month and I'm glad to be amongst the participates.  Gotta run but make sure to come and visit me again soon.

SCS Featured Stamper

Hey peeps.  Got a quick card for you today.  I've spent the last hour or so drooling over the Featured Stamper Maureen Merritt's gallery at Splitcoaststampers.  Huge congrats Maureen and your gallery is simply AMAZING!!  Love the simplicity of this card.  It was literally finished in five minutes.  Ribbon and flowers as embellishments and done!  LOL

Thanks for stopping by today.  It looks like it's about to storm outside so it's "nap" time.  :-)

CMC Challenge - Bring Out the Black

Morning peeps.  Hope your Saturday morning is off to a great one.  It's time for another Color Me Creative Challenge.  I am a huge fan of adding a little bit of black to decorating to make the room feel a little bit more "grounded".  It just seems to add a sense of placement amongst your room.  However, I don't seem to use it enough of my cards so this challenge was a great one for me.  We want to see you have at least 40% of your card or project with accents of black on it.  Here I colored my retro girl from Milk Coffee with black hair and pants.  I'm always intimidated with coloring something black but working with Suzanne's classes at CMC I have been able to break through all that silly intimidation mess and get on to my Copic coloring.  LOL  I have to say I sure do like this hip chick!  Them I added a black base for my card and then the flowers and ribbon.  See how the black just adds a little bit of something, something to the card?  If I would of used white it would of came off a little too soft.

Now why don't you give it a try?   Let's see how you incorporate some black into your next project.  Remember you have a whole two weeks to practice and get your card loaded.  Make sure you have your project linked up over on the CMC blog by FRIDAY, August 31st.

Birthdays and Celebrations

Hey peps.  All this month at Your Next Stamp we have been celebrating.  Karen and her fabulous company have turned three.  Yay....so happy for your Karen.  So it has been an awesome month of celebrations and birthdays.  But for me...not so much.  I am horrible at getting out birthday, anniversary, wedding, etc cards.  Don't know why when I have a stamp room FULL of cards that I can send.  So with that being said, my twin is the "on-time Aunt" and me...the "you'll get it in the mail soon Aunt".

Since I missed my niece's birthday this month, I'm sending her this adorable card made with the So Sorry Donkey from YNS.  I just love, love, love this donkey.  His facial expression looks like mine when I realize I have forgotten another birthday.  Just cracks me up! LOL  I used the cloud die cuts from YNS to mask off the area that I didn't want to spray my Copic marker color over and the grass die cut for my donkey to have a place to stand. The paper is from My Mind's Eye Everyday Flair and the striped paper is from Michale's I think.  It came from my scrap bin.  You know how I love my scraps. :-)

Well I better run if I plan on getting my card out today.  Hope everyone has a fabulous FRIDAY!!

Saturated Canary Challenge #23

Hey peeps.  Glad you stopped by today.  I have a large book mark to show you today.  I wanted to participate in the Saturated Canary challenge (The Great Outdoors) and decided to make a book mark for one of my friends daughter who loves to read. Thought this would be a cheery little addition to her love of book marks.  I just adore the images from Saturated Canary and had this one colored up for some time just waiting for her finale. :-)

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope to see ya back here soon!

Baby Fever For Gretchen

Hey peeps.  Did you have fun along the Your Next Stamp birthday hop this week?  I loved all the creations that the DT members and guests made.  So much fun.

My wonderful and sweet co-worker Gretchen is having a baby girl in October and when I saw this stamp I just had to make her a card.  This image named Expecting Emily from Sparkle Creations looks just like Gretchen.  I fell in love with this stamp.  Gretchen's baby colors for the nursery will be lime green and hot pink and this paper worked great.  Gretchen loves patterns. :-)  After I colored up some flowers with my Copics and popped the image on my layout it was ready to give to her.  She loved it and I'm thrilled she did.

I'm going to enter my card into the following challenges:
Stampin' Sisters in Christ - Something Baby
Operation Write Home - Summer Flower cards
Divas by Design - For The Female
Make It Monday - Anything Goes
Fab 'n Funky - use pearls or rhinestones
Craft Your Passions - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a fabulous weekend everyone.

Showing off your background

Hey peeps.  It's time for another challenge over at CMC.  If you don't make a lot of cards with background images you will love this one. This fabulous pine cone image is from Squigglefly.  I usually would of made this image small enough to be on a panel on a card with background paper behind it.  But how cool does it look as a background?  Got cha thinking now do I?  I colored my image with Copic Markers and ShinHan Art Touch makers.  I have the wood tones set of ShinHan makers and they worked fabulous on these pine cones.  Here are the colors of Copics and Touch makers:

93, 92, 102, 98 - Touch Markers
BG93, BG95 - Copics

I used my clear Spica pen to add a little sparkle but I don't think you can really see it in this picture.  Suzanne works wonders with both sets of markers.  Yes, Suzanne I'm a CMC junkie!!  If you have not taken any of Suzanne's classes you are sooo missing out on getting your skills up using your makers.

Speaking of classes Suzanne has a new on-line class debuting on August 31 that focuses 110% on all hair types, styles and colors.and your can pre-register right now for $45.  Also if you are in the Boston or NYC area Suzanne will be teaching her CT class in Stafford Springs the weekend of August 22nd.  She will be teaching the All About Hair class in person as well.  So head on over to CMCRoad for all the details.

Gotta run and I sure do hope you join in on the fun.  You have until  August 17th to make your project and load it up on the CMC site.
