Couldn't help myself.  I know this is my second card today but I just had to play along with the SCS challenge today.  While at work I took a look at the sketch and knew exactly the image I wanted to use.  So without delay I was out the door on time and headed straight to my stamp room.  I love this Eagle from I Brake For Digis.  I had it colored since last week but didn't want to just put it on any card.  With the fourth of July just a few days away I felt todays sketch it could be my focal image.

Blog Candy Reminder....

I can't believe that it will be a year this month that I started my blog.  Boy does time fly.  The choice to start my blog was not an easy one.  A few of my good friends convinced me that I could do it.  I was recovering from a surgery and would have some time on my hands so why not start a blog?  I can't thank these ladies enough for the inspiration they gave me.  I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to keep it up.  Do I have to post every day? Have a card or item to add to the post? Would I get bored with the whole blog thing?  All these questions rolled around in my head. But once I started I was hooked.  I have met some wonderful people through my blog and have had the chance to be on some awesome design teams.  I don't regret venturing into the blog world.  It has been truly amazing.

Okay, enough about that. :-) To thank everyone for leaving their kind comments and stopping by to see my creative juices flow, I'm putting together a Showing Some Love package for one lucky person.  The package will contain all kinds of goodies (paper, ribbon, stamps, embellishments, etc.) to let you know that I appreciate your kind words and your choice to follow my blog.  Please sign up to follow my blog to qualify for the prize.  The lucky winner will be selected at random and will be announced at the end of the month.

Happy Hour Freddy

Hey peeps.  I'm doing my Sunday Featured Stamper Challenge today over at SCS and I just had to post this card.  A dear co-worker of mine is going through a rough time and I don't want him to think that we have forgotten about him during happy hour so I thought good ole' Freddie Frog from I Brake For Digis would make him feel like he's still with us. :-)  This frog just cracks me up.  The sentiment is a stamp from TAC that I just took the words 'happy hour' from.  It fit perfect with Freddie.  I hope this makes my co-worker smile.

Take care everyone.

Rugged Cross

How blessed I'm feeling today.  I hope everyone is having a beautiful Saturday.  Well, done with my Father's Day shopping and the goodies my husband will receive tomorrow are fabulous. He's one lucky man. :-)  I had previously made my husband a Father's Day card but decided I wanted to do something different.  The card I'm showing you today was made with I Brake For Digis' Rugged Cross.  I know it's not the usual "father's day" image but I'm so blessed to have my husband that I wanted to do something different and show that God is behind the blessing that we receive. I love that fact that you can resize this image since it's digital to make it as large or as small as you need it to be.  That's the beautiful of digi "stamps". The sentiment is from Stampabilities called Mattew 7:7.

Well, since the card is finished I better get to work on the gift wrapping.  So may gifts, so little time.  If you have a father in your life, I'm wishing him a great day tomorrow and always.  Happy stamping everyone.

CPS171

Welcome back buddies!! :-)  Not feeling my best today but before I take my medicine and head off the la-la land I wanted to make a card for the CPS Challenge.  I had made all my father's day cards and then realized that I had made one for my kids to give to their Dad but I had not made one from me.  My husband is obviously not "my dad" (oh goodness how weird would that be!!!) but we always give each other Mother's and Father's Day cards.  So this sketch came in handy.  All the materials came out of my scrap bin and I had to only ink up one stamp.  Whew, that was easy. :-)

Well thanks for stopping by and hopefully I willl see ya back tomorrow for the Repeat Impressions What If Wednesday sketch.

Materials used:
Paper: SU Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Bashful Blue and scrap paper from Hobby Lobby
Stamp: Dad (A Muse Art Stamps)
Ink: Stazon Timber Brown, SU So Saffron and Bashful Blue
Accessories:  White Sharpie Paint Pen

SCS Challenge SC284

Oh....finally got my card done.  With so much to do when I walk in from work, it was a struggle. BUT...I'm happy I was able to participate in today's SCS Sketch Challenge.  I had this cute little Meljen image already colored and I was able to pull this SU paper from my scrap bin and throw this card together in no time.  Whew....that was quick.

Now, back to the kitchen for dinner clean up duty. :-(  I so rather stay in my stamp room.

See ya later.

Tea Bag Box

Hi everyone.  Today I just have to show you this tea bag box I made for one of my best friends.  She doesn't drink coffee (ugh, don't know how she does it) so I thought I would give her a variety pack of tea bags.

This was SUPER easy to make since I used the original box as my template.  You can make the entire box out of one piece of 12 x 12 paper.  You have to cut an extra piece out of the 12 x 12 paper for the bottom as the box template is longer than the paper itself. But when it's glued together you can't even tell it was two pieces. Does that make sense?  You can hold 20 tea tags in this cute little box. You even have enough scraps left over to use on your image or on a card to go with your box.  I'm just too tickled with myself for staring at this box long enough to realize "there's a template". LOL

Hope you enjoyed your visit today.  I'm heading back to the kitchen to see what other templates might be lurking around.  Have a great day everyone and remember.....anything can be a "template"

Fairy's Fun

Happy Monday everyone.  Hope everyone had a great weekend and you're ready for this weeks Stamp of the Week from Repeat Impressions.  When life gets really hectic and it's spinning too fast, slow down and take a Fairy's Fun (4304-K) ride on a Dragonfly. :-)  Wouldn't that be the coolest thing every?  This is just the cutest stamp.

I colored my little fairy image with my Copic makers and had him floating through the clouds (scalloped circle and blue Pearlescent Chalk).  Once again I pulled the paper that I believe is from a retired SU design paper pack from my scrap bin and layered it on some Bazzill brown paper.  All is mounted on Whisper White paper and dotted along the top and bottom edges with my white Sharpie paint pen.  The sentiment is also from Repeat Impressions unmounted sheet (8600). I punched it out with my SU round tab punch and distressed the edges with some pink Pearlescent chalk.

Now for the good news....this stamp is 50% OFF!!!  You heard me......50% OFF this week only (June 7-June 13).  Now remember in order for you to get the 50% off you must stop by The House That Stamp Built blog to get your discount code.  Wendy is super generous in giving you the chance to purchase all the Stamp of the Week stamps at a 50% off discount.  But, you must act quickly as they are only discounted for the week they are shown.  So remember, to visit each Monday and place your order.

Check out what some of the other DT members have come up with:

Have a great day everyone.

Cards and More Cards

Praise the Lord this beautiful Sunday morning.  I am up and feeling blessed this morning that the Lord has given me some stamping mojo.  I'm participating in two challenges today.  The first one is for the Featured Stamper over at SCS.  Nikki Schmaltz is today's lucky FS.  Her gallery is chalk full of great inspiration.  So I decided to inked up my Repeat Impressions Over the Hill (3901) stamp for this challenge. When I saw this stamp I just rolled.  Ever have these kinds of birthdays?  I'm trying to stay on the "other side" of that hill.  LOL  Wendy has some of the best humorous sentiments.  I followed Nikki's layout but changed the paper (The Green Stack DP), SU Barely Banana and Bazzill Red for the flowers.  I broke out my handy dandy white Sharpie of course and scallopped the bottom of the paper.  I sponged around my sentiment with Barely Banana and there you have it.

My next card is for Flourishes Color Challenge.  I had this flower colored for some time so all I had to do was add a button, silver cording and white dots with my Sharpie.  The paper is from SU called Good Morning Sunshine.  I love this paper pack.  I Cuttlebugged my Bazzill yellow paper to match the circles in the DP.  The sentiment is also from SU called Whimsical Words.  My flower is colored with the following Copic Markers (Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17, Y19).  I sponged around the sentiment with SU Summer Sun. Added a touch of silver cording the "wrap" everything together and mounted it on coordinating paper.  Viola, a cute flower card ready for the mailbox.

I hope you have many blessings today.  Get your stamping mojo out and create something special.

 Hugs~

A Father Is

Happy Friday everyone.  I'm so glad this week is over.  I'm featuring my card for today's Free 4 All Friday over at SCS.  I didn't want to fall behind on getting my Father's Day cards done and today's challenge was perfect for me to get started.

I'm using my Divi Divi Tree and A Father Is stamps from Repeat Impressions. I masked off my tree and sponged on the grass (SU Old Olive and Always Artichoke) and sky (Bashful Blue).  I found this paper pack this week at Hobby Lobby called Planes and Trains by GCD Sutdios.  What I love about this DP is has a masculine feel to the paper and is not a kiddie pack like the name would lead you to believe.  I embossed the light blue paper with my woodgrain embossing folder. All the layered paper is Bazzill paper.  I really think my husband is going to love this card.

I hope you enjoyed your visit today.  Make sure to stop back by on Monday for the Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week.  Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Hugs~

Sofa So Good

Welcome back.  I had a chance to participate in the SCS Ways to Use It Challenge.  For the challenge today you needed to use a piece of furniture on your card.  I have had this SU stamp set called Please Be Seated forever and I don't use it very often.  But today I was able to dust it off and get it inked up.

I paper pieced my pillows and watercolored my couch in Pink Pirquette.  I watercolored the legs of my couch in Chocolate Chip.  I went through my scrap bin and found this SU paper.  For the life of my I can't remember the name of it.  I Cuttlebugged my Pink Pirquette paper and layered it all on Kiwi Kiss.  And of course I used my white Sharpie paint pen to add some little dots.

Thanks for stopping by today.  See ya back real soon.

WIW Sketch

It's What If Wednesday!!!  It's sketch time everyone. I can't believe it's the middle of the week already.  Wendy's featured sketch today is a pretty simple one.  I'm just getting back to blogland and I'm glad that I had the tools right at my fingertips for the sketch.

My main image is from Repeat Impressions and is called Morning Glories (2629-H)  I love this flower because the possibilities are endless.  The sentiment is also from Repeat Impressions (8622).  This sentiment sheet is just awesome.  If you haven't purchased this unmounted sheet, what are you waiting for?

I stamped my morning glories with black Memento ink and colored them with R22 and R24 Copic Markers.  The leaves where colored with SU Kiwi Kiss.  I then stamped my sentiment in Stazon Timber Brown.   I sponged around both the flowers and the sentiment with SU Barely Banana.  I ran my R22 Copic marker around the edges of my sentiment.  Mounted my flowers on a larger scalloped circle in Kiwi Kiss. Layered the entire thing on Basic Grey Porcelain Collection paper backed by a piece of dark brown Bazzill paper and SU Whisper White. There you have it!  Another wonderful sketch completed.

The other Rock Stars are going to wow you with their cards this week.  Don't forget to stop by their blogs:

Also, you can upload your creation over at The House That Stamps Built. We would love to see what inspiration you have with this sketch.  See ya back here soon.  Take care for now.

Hugs~
